A second trip to Brazil brought us to five venues: The Cristalino River Reserve, Emas National Park, Parnaiba Headwaters National Park, the southeaster forests around Rio de Janeiro, and a cruise on the Amazon and Rio Negro Rivers. In between venues, Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro offered cityscapes.

Guyana 2026

The itinerary for Guyana started on the Mahaica River and the Georgetown harbor. A charter flight to us to the famous Kaieteur Falls and the forests around the Atta Lodge. We drove to the banks of the Rupununi River, a savanna area dominated by Amerindian culture. A 3 hour boat ride up river brought us to the forest wilderness of Mapari Creek, managed by Katoka Village. A few of the target wildlife we saw include the red howler monkey, the scarlet ibis, the Guianan Cock-of-the-Rock, the giant anteater, and the Harpy Eagle.
