Tanzania, Egypt 2009

Africa has a higher density of large wildlife than any other place, and Tarangire NP, Lake Manyara NP, Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, and Serengeti NP provided the photographic thrills to launch my hobby. Exploring the Nile from Abu Simbel to Alexandria by plane and boat revealed the Egypt's extensive history.

South Africa, Botswana, Uganda 2012

In South Africa we stayed at King's Camp Timbavati and Mala Mala Nature Preserves, which are part of the Kroger NP ecological zone. We visited two different parts of the Botswana's Okavango Delta. Uganda was a special treat because it was uncrowded, yet had great sightings like chimpanzees, tree climbing lions, and mountain gorillas.

Kenya 2015

The great migration with the crossings of the Mara River is not to be missed even if it is overcrowded. The big cats were very photogenic.

Madagascar 2015

Lemur taxonomy is complicated, but in one way of counting, we captured 19 species. The spiny forest, the baobab forest, and the Tsingy rock formations are special.

Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Ethiopia 2018

Our visit to the breeding ground of the Carmine Bee-eater was rewarding. Victoria falls was exciting even at low water. Hwange NP produced shots of species new to us. Ethiopia was another world, where many endemics are seen. A visit to the Suri Tribe of the Omo Valley was a cultural highlight.

Central African Republic, Namibia 2018

Dzanga-Sangha National Park in the Central African Republic has many species found only in the rainforest like forest elephants, bongo, black-bellied panolins, lowland gorillas, and more. Namibia is home to oryx, and brown hyenas in addition to many big animals found throughout southern and eastern Africa.
